An unctuous concoction of succulent fricassee of chicken with garlic, ginger, thyme, and fresh plum tomatoes. Laden with hand made potato dumplings, this is the ultimate in comfort food. Une portion est jamais assez! xx
It’s a hotly contested issue. Widely believed to be of French-Canadian origin and popular in Southern and Mid-Western America also. I think It really peaked during the Great Depression owing to it’s comforting but mostly its filling properties. Perhaps it will make a come back in these austere times… xx
