Last week I shuffled along to Cosmetics a la Carte in Knightsbridge (Ooh très chic, je sais) to have a custom blend whipped up. For those of us not in “the know”, a custom blend is a made to measure service whereby one can have concealer, foundation, and lipstick tailor made to suit one’s complexion.
Cosmetics a la Carte is a unique make-up brand. In 1973 they pioneered the ‘bespoke beauty’ experience whilst also offering an extensive ready-to-wear range.
What I found most enjoyable about the experience was the patient assistance provided by my expert make up artist. As we made our way through the range of colour options at no point did I feel I was taking too much time. I elected to go with the “Skin Tint” range – a “build-able anti-ageing foundation with plumping peptides for a dewy youthful glow”. As you know, I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to make-up so was happy to be tutored in how and where to apply my base to achieve a different finish. The best part is, once you have your custom blend you can re-order online!
If you (comme moi) are worried about harmful chemicals in your skincare, you will be happy to learn the A la Carte range uses only natural, mineral and botanical technology for Silicon and preservative free long lasting make-up. Que pouvait une fille demander de plus? Bisous x
